Heidi Sowerbutts - Director (BSc, BArch (hons), ADPPA, RIBA, ARB)

Heidi has over 20 years industry experience in both the UK and Australia. With several years’ experience in London as a registered Architect, Lead Consultant and Project Manager, she then moved to the NHS as Head of Capital Development overseeing strategic planning and capital, upgrade and maintenance works to a portfolio of 55 community buildings and 6 hospitals including 2 Forensic Mental Health units. Since relocating to Australia in 2012 Heidi has worked as both Design Manager and Project Manager for major construction companies working closely with the client and consultant team to deliver many significant projects across WA, NSW and ACT. Creating Hive is a natural step to achieving her personal goals of working closely with clients and on projects she feels passionately about.
The Hive Team is formed of individuals who have many years’ experience of working together on various projects who enjoy working together and all bring a similar level of maturity and capability to the team.

We are highly experienced professionals from a variety of design, construction and project planning and delivery related backgrounds who have chosen to move away from major corporate roles to focus on what we enjoy doing.

Our goal is to work with client’s and on projects that we feel passionate about, and importantly create a better and more rewarding quality of life for ourselves, our families, friends and colleagues.
We are authentic and honest and want every project to become a success for our clients. The enjoyment we get from our careers and every day in a collaborative working environment contributes significantly to the quality of life of many people, this is the same for the whole project team be it our clients’, consultants, contactors and other stakeholders involved in creating a project. We want to positively contribute towards this.
